The project comprised of the refurbishment of the level 3 Burlington Danes.
Scope of works included: Demolition of existing partitions, doorsets and redundant services; Modification of existing freezer room to create a new corridor link into the new facility; New screed throughout the project area to match floor level of existing adjacent rooms; Installation of new plasterboard & framed glazed partitions, new linings along external walls, new doorsets, new ceiling and flooring;
Installation of new lab furniture; Installation of 6 no. of Microbiological Safety Cabinets and 2 Fume Cupboards (ducted); Installation of new services, including new ducts, drainage, power, lab gases, ventilation, IT and lighting etc; Installation of Nitrogen tank adjacent to the Energy Centre; works included installation of new tank enclosure, relocated bin store, modification of existing pavement, underground services diversions and parking bay arrangement;
Installation of Helium Recovery system to Level 3 Bin area and Ground Floor Cylinder Store; Installation of an outdoor compressor unit to service gantry, works involve addition platform and secondary steel supports; Installation of an enclosure for UPS unit and new flues to level 6 Plant Room; Installation of 2no. flues in Fan Wells on level 6.
