Works comprised retaining two existing retail units at ground and basements levels and upgrading elevations with new traditional shopfronts.
Converting the existing maisonettes in the upper levels to the rear of No. 17 will be linked bank to the main body of the building by a partially glazed infill extension to create a 2-bedroom flat with 1-bedroom flats above.
Consolidating a new residential entrance by creating a direct route to the rear courtyard and inserting a 1½ storey rear extension housing a new access stair to the upper levels of the building.
Creating adequate refuse stores to the retail units and the residential accommodation above; provide plantroom space; joinery including stairs and balustrades, doors, wardrobes, bathroom cabinets, repairs to existing windows; green roof; secondary glazing; kitchens; shower enclosures.
Significant structural alteration works were undertaken as part of this scheme, with lowering of the basement floor level, new box frame to facilitate the removal of main column.
